Protecting Employees Who Report Illegal or Unethical Conduct

New Jersey's Conscientious Employee Protection Act (CEPA) is one of the strongest whistleblower protection laws in the nation, safeguarding employees who report or refuse to participate in illegal or unethical conduct. We represent employees who have been retaliated against for disclosing or threatening to disclose employer activities that violate laws, rules, or regulations; providing information to or testifying before public bodies conducting investigations; or objecting to or refusing to participate in activities that violate law or public policy. CEPA protections extend broadly to employees who raise concerns about health and safety violations, financial fraud, environmental violations, regulatory non-compliance, and other illegal activities, whether reported internally or to external authorities. Our firm holds employers accountable when they punish employees for doing the right thing, seeking full remedies including reinstatement, back pay, emotional distress damages, and punitive damages.
